Make sure you set an achievable amount of time to do it in 5 minutes 10 minutes a day

I also want you to identify the source of your listening earl

I prefer to read well that's great awesome but I want you to try reading with audio

Practice with imitation technique that's just three simple steps

Step1.  Listen and read >>>  listen to what I say and read the words on the screen as I say them

Step 2.  Imitate me >> Be listening to what I say but then they'll be a pause so that you can repeat what I said you need to copy me exactly as you see me

Step 3.  Shadow me >>> you're going to be listening to me I'm saying what I'm saying at the same time

2. Pronunciation practice

you should be practicing your pronunciation everyday

  • practicing you invitation
  • tongue twisters
  • Reading out loud
  • do this pronunciation practice with your listening practice

when you're listening to the audio book that you're reading listen to then press pause then read the same paragraph again yourself while it's fresh in your mind and do your pronunciation practice doesn't have to be a lot a paragraph a day but that is a really awesome way to combine your listening your pronunciation along with reading and vocabulary building skills.

3. Practice speaking

  • find a speaking partner
  •  Pay for a tutor
  • Language exchange
  • online English Community
  • Immerse yourself in English

Practice speaking everyday so even if you can't make this goal happen every day  maybe you try and do it every second day maybe twice a week whatever it is set the goal and make it consistent promise yourself that you're going to see it through.

1. Speak in front of a mirror.

Watch the shape of your mouth and your facial expressions

2.Read aloud to yourself.

It helps you better understand how words are written in English as well as how they're spoken

Read a lot and out loud

3.Listen to spoken English and repeat it back.

Play a video with a native speaker talking in English. After each sentence, pause the video and repeat the sentence aloud. Rewind the video and listen to the native speaker again, then repeat it again yourself

4.Narrate your actions.

Say what you're doing or thinking aloud in English. As you go about your day, pretend you're a character in a novel and tell your "reader" about your every move.

5.Memorize a poem or speech and recite it.

Find a short poem or speech you love. Go line by line to memorize the passage you've chosen—just this act is already helping you become more familiar with English.  >> Storytelling. Try to use them when you speak with someone.

6.Test out tongue twisters.

Use these silly phrases to practice problematic pronunciation.

7.Record yourself speaking and play it back.

Read a passage in a book aloud, then listen to yourself speaking. Any sort of voice recorder will work for this—most smartphones have recording apps. It can be awkward to listen to your recorded voice, but it'll help you recognize issues with your pronunciation.

If you have a recording of a native English speaker reading the same passage, play your recording first, then play theirs. Note where your pronunciation differs so you'll know what you need to practice more.

8.Sing along with English lyric.

Learn the lyrics to English-language songs that you like. Popular music can be great because you'll also pick up some of the slang and casual speech that most people use in daily life.Listening to English-language music is a good way to immerse yourself in the language. Initially, you might find that you don't understand all the words. But as you continue to listen, you'll start understanding more and more.

9.Dictate in English instead of writing.

If the app shows the word you meant to say, you'll know your pronunciation is clear. How the virtual assistant understands what you've said also helps you improve your pronunciation.

10.Read English subtitles aloud.

Watch a show in English with subtitles, reading along. Try to say the words at the same time as the person on the screen (although this can be difficult if there's a lag in the subtitles). This will help you with the speed of your speech as well as your pronunciation

11.Commentate a sports broadcast.

Put the game on mute and make the play-by-play yourself in English.

12.Practice shadow reading.

Get a transcript and read along as someone is speaking. For this exercise, you'll need both a written transcript and a video of a person saying those exact words. When you start the video and the person starts speaking, speak aloud along with them using the transcript. Try to mimic their speed, rhythm, and speaking style as closely as possible.

Learn opposites / antonyms

Your brain grasps these opposites a lot easier than simply absolutely random.

Collocation fun >> Collocations are words that are commonly used together.

E.g. Heavy rain ( NOT) big rain)

Rehearse. Spaced repetition method.

How Listen to a fast original conversat

1.Listen to a fast original conversation

we're going to be following four steps the first step is to listen to a fast original conversation clip we're going to be listening to eclipse Nathan was a native English speaker and he's going to be talking a little bit about his experience with an international public speaking organization called Toastmasters then

2. Listen to a slow version

Number to we're going to listen to a slow version of this clip this means that hopefully in the slow version you're going to catch each word you're going to hear words that you didn't hear the first time because it was pretty fast but in the slow down version it's going to be a little bit clearer for you to hear each word

3. Write everything that you hear

step number three is to write everything that you hear whatever you hear Nathan say whatever you hear me say try to write exactly what you hear and in

4. Check your writing

The fourth step we're going to check your writing with the original transcript you probably see oh I got that weird correct I didn't know that that's what they said but I wrote it correctly and you'll probably also see oh wow I didn't hear that at all maybe there some linking the production that you didn't know before so this is a good way to test what you know and also test what's difficult for you to that you can improve that maybe you don't write the correct word because you simply don't know it maybe it's a new vocabulary word for you

this is a good way to expand your vocabulary so they were going to be talking about three words that you're going to hear in the conversation with Nathan so hopefully those will just add to your vocabulary today is YouTube lesson is a free sample of my course

5 Speaking Rules you need to know!

 1. Don't study grammar too much

Studying grammar will only slow you down and confuse you. You will think about the rules when creating sentences instead of naturally saying a sentence like a native

2. Learn and study phrases

If you know 1000 words, you might not be able to say one correct sentence. But if you know 1 phrase, you can make hundreds of correct sentences. If you know 100 phrases, you will be surprised at how many correct sentences you will be able to say. Finally, when you know only a 1000 phrases, you will be almost a fluent English speaker.

3. Reading and Listening is NOT enough. Practice Speaking what you hear!

It is normal for babies and children to learn speaking first, become fluent, then start reading, then writing. So the natural order is listening, speaking, reading, then writing.

When you learn a second language, you need to read material to understand and learn it. So students is reading, listening, speaking, then writing.

4. Submerge yourself
They can speak English not because they went to an English speaking school, but because they had an environment where they can be around English speaking people constantly.
You don't have to go anywhere to become a fluent English speaker. You only need to surround yourself with English. You can do this by making rules with your existing friends that you will only speak English. You can also carry around an iPod and constantly listen to English sentences. As you can see, you can achieve results by changing what your surroundings are. Submerge yourself in English and you will learn several times faster
even if you don't have many English speaking friends, you can constantly surround yourself in English using your MP3 player.

5. Study correct material
A common phrase that is incorrect is, "Practice makes perfect." This is far from the truth. Practice only makes what you are practicing permanent. If you practice the incorrect sentence, you will have perfected saying the sentence incorrectly. Therefore, it is important that you study material that is commonly used by most people. So use these practice times as a time period to practice the correct material you studied. Not to learn how to say a sentence.

Summary

These are the rules that will help you achieve your goal of speaking English fluently. All the teachings and lessons on Still English  follow this method so you have the tools you need to achieve your goal right here on  Still English.
